Anytime you are ordering food at a restaurant you are putting yourself at risk for cross-contamination. Some menu items have a higher risk than others. I went through Wendy’s website and read all of the ingredients. Although the following did not have any mention of gluten-containing ingredients, they are not certified gluten free and are prepared in a kitchen using surfaces and utensils that also handle gluten.
Menu Items at Wendy’s that do not contain gluten in the ingredients
Beef Patties – Cheese Slices – Applewood Smoked Bacon – Grilled Chicken (see note) – Asiago Cheese Slices – Ranch Sauce – Southwest Avocado Salad – Taco Salad – Apple Pecan Chicken Salad (see note) – Grilled Caesar Salad w/o croutons – Fries (see note) – Chili Cheese Fries (see note) – Chili Cheese Nachos – Bacon Cheddar Cheese Sauce Baked Potato – Sour Cream and Chive Baked Potato – Plain Baked Potato
Notes:
Grilled chicken is sliced on surfaces that also slices breaded chicken
Fries – Many locations fry french fries in the same fryer as other items containing gluten. Some locations have a dedicated fryer. You must ask at each location before ordering fries.
Frosty – Oddly there were no ingredients on the website for their chocolate frosty so I have no idea if it contains gluten.
