I was particularly interested in the Minute Maid Heart Wise orange juice with Plant Sterols. I wanted to know what these sterols were sourced from. I emailed the manufacturer and received the following correspondence:

Thank you for contacting the Minute Maid Company!

We are able to confirm that Minute Maid Light Lemonade, Simply Lemonade, Simply Limeade, and our 100% juice products (without added ingredients) are gluten free. 

 Plant sterols used in MM Heart Wise are derived from highly refined vegetable oils including soybean, canola, sunflower, cottonseed, corn and palm. We have had experts in the area of food allergy review the process used to produce plant sterols. These experts have determined the highly refined soybean oils are not considered allergenic foods. Highly refined oils do not contain protein residues at levels that are hazardous to allergic consumers.

Minute Maid is part of The Coca-Cola Company. I was surprised to see how many beverages were under their umbrella. I have also contacted them regarding these beverages. Keep an eye out for future blogs regarding this subject matter.
