The Lemon Tree Vegan Restaurant, 395 Ontario Street #A1, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada

I am not a vegan, but I do enjoy eating vegan food from time to time. One of the things I like about vegan food is, it can easily be adapted to be gluten free. The Lemon Tree Mediterranean Café style restaurant has great food and service. The staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to a celiac diet and they have a separate gluten free menu. They were very patient with me, explaining each item and what it was made from (I left a good tip).

I was very impressed with their caesar salad. It is not something I order in restaurants because I don’t like anchovy paste and I can’t have the croutons. Well, I still can’t have the croutons here, but the dressing was surprisingly delicious. Not as heavy as regular caesar dressing because there is no egg. I’m not sure how they made their vegan parmesan cheese, but it was delicious. The spicy feta dip was amazing, once again, I am floored by how they make their vegan cheese, but I would go back again and again for this delight. They also have gluten free pitas for dipping.

How is that for a selection? I haven’t been to any other restaurant in this area that has had this many choices for gluten free people. Their vegan menu selection is huge. This restaurant is definitely worth the drive to the Niagara Region!
